Slow Blinking

More people need to learn more about dog communication. Our dogs communicate most by using body language rather than vocally. That includes them trying to communicate with their humans as well as with other dogs.
BLINKING
If your dog slowly blinks at you, it is usually a sign of trust, relaxation, and affection.
It means your dog feels secure and comfortable around you.
When used as communication between dogs, it is generally used as a calming signal, to avoid any kind of potential conflict or to diffuse any tension between them and the other dog.
If your dog does it to you try responding by blinking back slowly, what lovely communication between two species expressing trust and connection.
* Watching other body language is important as slow blinking could also be a medical issue such as eye irritation or discomfort. Context is always important.
