Puppy Training

Support from the moment you meet your puppy

Learn Love Play

Adding a puppy to your family should be the most wonderful experience and bring years of joy and love.

Puppies

Welcoming a new puppy into your home is such an exciting time. It can also emotional, frustrating, stressful and exhausting.

Your puppy will make you melt when you gaze at her sleepy little face whilst you are cuddling her. Along with possibly tearing your hair out with frustration too.

I have trained hundreds of puppies and they are all different, some are easier than others, a few even sleep through the night from day one, most need some help setting.

Your Mission

To ensure your puppy grows up to be happy, confident, obedient and loved with all the life skills she will need to have a long fullfilled life with you.

Patience

The most important thing to have an abundance of with all dog training, especially with puppies, is patience.

Consistency

If everyone in the house has different rules, differnt words for behaviours, different methods of training your puppy she will grow up confused and worried.

Time

Put in the time now to teach your puppy how to live and behave in this strange human world and it will make all the difference when she is older.

Puppy training tailored to meet the needs of your puppy and your family

Bespoke training to suit you and your life goals with your puppy, either at your home starting before vaccination or a mixture of home visits and sessions in my classroom and outdoors

Get off to a great start

Give your puppy the very best start in life so you and your dog can look forward to a happy, and fun, future together.

My aim is to help you build a good, lasting relationship with your new puppy.

Prevent problems

From the day she arrives you have a short window of opportunity to teach the most urgent and important behaviours that can impact on your future together.

A lack of early training can badly affect both your quality of life and the life of your dog if she develops problem behaviours or grows into an unruly hard to handle dog.

What do I do?

As a puppy expert I can give you the advice & training you will need to have a happy, well-mannered puppy you will love to be around and be proud to take out:

From toilet training, mouthing & biting, jumping up at people, accepting being handled & brushed, chewing, crate training & social skills. Great obedience starts early too so learning all the basics plus lead walking & recall

…. and so much more

When?

Training should start as soon as your puppy arrives and ideally continue into adulthood.

Your puppy is learning all the time and now is the time to teach him what you want and expect from him. How can he possibly know if you don’t teach him? If you’ve got a new puppy get to work now on training and socialisation. The more you do in the early weeks, the better you are settting you both up for success.

Weeing everywhere

Jumping up at everyone

Crate training calmness

Do you have PPP?

Post puppy panic can set in after a few days when you realise that the adorable little angel you brought home is weeing everywhere, chewing your cushions and biting everyone. It can feel like he has totally taken over the house and every minute of your day seems to be now built around just trying to stop him doing all that stuff? Not to mention the lack of sleep.

But don’t worry – I absolutely love puppy training! As a puppy expert I know that getting your puppy off to a great start will mean you will have a pup you really enjoy having around, you will learn why he does what he does, how to change it and prevent behaviour problems developing as he grows up.

DENZEL

"We have a very strong and full on Boston terrier, Denzel. I was unable to walk him without my husband. With the help from Kerry we now have a calmer Denzel that I am able to walk by myself. It’s so nice to spend time with him now."

CHILLI

Kerry has helped us so much already with training our Dachshund, Chilli. We haven't finished our course yet and we can already see great results, Kerry has given us clear, helpful advice which is helping Chilli to become a much more focused and confident dog.
Chilli was reactive with both people and dogs, yet Kerry is the first person outside of our household that Chilli has warmed to and he has no problems being near her and listening to her.
I couldn't be happier with the service she is providing, she always gives us valuable advice to take away and homework to do to keep progressing inbetween sessions, which have helped us continuously and I am so thankful we came across Kerry to help us when poor Chilli sometimes seemed like a lost cause.
Thank you so much Kerry!

WALTER

"Had the best experience with Kerry. She really understood Walter's needs and showed us how to use treats to help him walk nicely on a lead. Walter is walking so much better on a lead. Walter is not very food driven and has never taken food/treats of a person he doesn't know. Within 10 minutes of meeting Kerry he was taking treats and coming to the "close" position like a pro. Would definitely recommend Kerry.

PAULIE, BO & ROSIE

Having 3 dogs can sometimes be a handful. Paulie, our youngest Labradoodle is in his terrible two's and we were having troubles with him becoming aggressive towards our other two. Bo, a 6 year old Cockerpoo and Rosie a 5 year old Labradoodle. We could not sit on the couch at night without a fight breaking out and we couldn't find a way to stop this happening. It was getting so bad that Bo wouldn't come sit with us. During her visit, Kerry spent the evening basically training us with what we were doing wrong! Since then, everything has been great and it's lovely to see the dogs all happy & chilled again. We can't thank her enough

BOWIE

Where do I start? Everyone told me my boy Bowie was a lost cause, that he was dangerous . that he was beyond help and to put him to sleep. He was just 11 months old. a young male dog struggling with hormones and he began to lash out. He had bitten, attacked 2 dogs. become a dog I no longer recognized. I had to get help. I met many trainers. but then I met Kerry. I instantly knew she was different from the rest and that she was going to help us. fast forward 18 months (thanks covid) we now have our boy back. balanced. focused. social. Happy. yes, he may have a flare up in the future but I now have all the tools and the confidence to get my boy through it all and I couldn't have done it without Kerry. I will be forever grateful for her help, advice, guidance and knowledge for bringing my boy back.

LUNA

Working with Kerry was great. Really appreciated how she listened and focussed on what was right for our dog and for us. Kerry has helped enormously, guiding us to help Juno overcome her anxiety around traffic. We picked up loads of other tips and fun tricks along the way and now have a happy, relaxed dog

JULES

I’ll never be able to fully thank Kerry for the time, dedication and patience she showed, not only to our puppy but to two new owners with so much to learn. To anyone struggling with their dog, I give Kerry the highest recommendation, I really dread to think where we’d be without her.

OATY

Kerry helped us so much with our nervous boy Oaty! He was super nervous of new people, especially in the house and would bark constantly at them. One of the first times Kerry met Oaty, he sat and barked at her for a whole hour and she wasn’t deterred at all. 6 months on and he happily plays and wrestles about with people we introduce him to! He’s grown so much in confidence and we can now happily leave him with dog sitters and new people. It’s relieved so much of our worries and helped both Oaty and us live a happier life together. Couldn’t recommend Kerry more!!
